Dear IDGFers, in this noisy era, be a down-to-earth person

We often call ourselves "IDGF". Previously, the meanings represented by the four letters "IDGF" have been explained.

“I”:Illumination(启迪)

“D”:Diligence(勤奋)

“G”:Gift(天赋)

“F”:Faith(信念)

Each of these words conceals ideals and beliefs deeply. This is not only our educational philosophy, but also a firm belief that both teachers and students should hold. Every IDGFer always keeps this in mind

Some people may wonder, where should a firm belief start?

We would like to share some of our innermost thoughts during this summer vacation, before the new term begins, and respond to some skeptical voices.

Effort and diligence

It is the key to reaching the peak

This year's holiday was lively, and for us, it should also be a precious baptism.

This summer, the Five-Starred Red Flag shone in Paris, becoming the most eye-catching color along the Seine River. Among them, Quan Hongchan, the Chinese diving dream team, a name that was well-known to everyone several years ago, once again amazed the world.

Although called a "genius" by netizens and the media, talent is not the only factor for Quan Hongchan's success. She trained diligently and made efforts that were unknown to others.

Born into an ordinary rural family in Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province, she lived in hardship. There were five siblings in her family, and both of her parents were simple farmers. The trials and tribulations of life have forged her tenacious character of being able to endure hardships and have endurance.

Day after day, she engaged in monotonous and arduous training, such as air rolls, platform jumping practice, and diving movements, enduring developmental challenges. However, she never "gave up". Instead, she persisted in practicing repeatedly, overcame practical difficulties, and constantly challenged her own limits.

Quan Hongchan, this name might be the epitome of her story:

"Go all out, become famous all over the world, and defend the championship title."

From an ordinary girl to now standing at the top of the world's podium, her efforts and diligence have been the key to her reaching the peak. She knows that only by giving it her all first can she get a good answer.

This post-2000s generation has written with sweat and hard work what persistence and belief are, allowing contemporary youth to see a more concrete expression of the word "go all out".

Classmates

You should believe in some simple truths

image.png

Why take Quan Hongchan as an example? Because she is about the same age as our classmates, but has traits that most of her peers don't have - being able to endure hardships and being determined enough.

In the past two years, some sayings have been very popular on the Internet, such as "lying flat" and "Buddhists".

We hope that children can have a good state of mind and values at this most beautiful age or at some point in the future. And now is the most crucial period for your shaping.

When these words appear, they should not be a behavioral guideline. When these online "cultures" frequently appear in daily speech, we should be alert. Because this means that we might start to lower our expectations, constantly psychologically suggest to enjoy the so-called "relaxation", and start to accept the helplessness of not getting what we want...

This is an undesirable negative attitude for us who are in the prime of our youth. The true pursuit of serenity lies in inner peace, getting rid of self-doubt and firmly holding onto the direction of progress.

When faced with the failure to meet expectations after our efforts, we should choose to be a "stupid" person, take every step steadily, and appear foolish with great wisdom. Be firm. Time can be seen.

It is quite important to maintain one's belief. The best scenery is in places that only a few people can reach. There must be difficulties along the way. Therefore, we should have a firm belief and try to turn our attention to simple truths, such as "A drop of water wears away a stone" and "A spark starts a prairie fire".

Keep the desire for things

image.png

Quan Hongchan must have devoted time, energy, sweat and tears to repeatedly perform the "water splash disappearance technique". We all understand that a happy ending is usually not an easy process. As the saying goes, when Heaven is about to confer a great responsibility on someone, it will first test his mind and spirit and strain his muscles and bones.

We should maintain the desire for things, the desire for progress and the desire for growth. That is to say, one should have a clear goal and passion for life.

We are now fortunate to have a platform for academic studies, space for growth, and even an international perspective. And then what? Looking further ahead, there are so many top universities at home and abroad, so many types of occupations, and so many challenges and opportunities in society waiting for us to face... For instance, around us, IDGF has so many opportunities to showcase themselves and so many stages for growth waiting for us...

How can we reach a better shore? How to confront one's inner desires and passions directly? This is worth our consideration.

Now, please keep the desire for things first.

In fact, we want IDGFers to be a "clumsy" person in this era of quick success and noise, to calm down, keep their feet on the ground and focus on themselves.

Refuse to "lie flat", hold firm to your beliefs and be brave to move forward.
