Every way is for seeing the world better. Study Tours have long been a tradition of IDGF every semester. This semester, we still haven't stopped our pursuit and have carefully selected research and study topics. September is busy yet vivid for us. We start with national defense education and end with research and study activities. Yesterday, the teachers and students of IDGF went to the Guangzhou Archives and Lingnan Impression Park, embarking on a study tour to explore Lingnan culture. This is not a cursory trip. We set out with questions, hoping that students can review the development process and glorious achievements of Guangzhou from the archival records and architectural culture... ![]() ![]() Open the memories sealed in the file -- Guangzhou Archives Entering the archive is like opening a thick history book of Guangzhou, traveling back in time to many years ago... The students followed the staff and, under their professional explanations, were all immersed in this exhibition about time and memory together. The Guangzhou Archives is not only a place for the collection and preservation of archives, but also a window to showcase Guangzhou's history and culture, documenting the imprints of Guangzhou's growth. This place seems like a "miniature" version of the major museums in Guangzhou, where one can see the origin of Guangzhou, the prosperity of its civilization, the culture of the Thirteen Factories, and the changes during the Republic of China period. ![]() ![]() In the classroom, students are immersed in the ocean of knowledge and theories, while research and study are about experiencing the humanities through "research", generating their own insights through "learning", and being enlightened, inspired, expanded and tempered through "action"... Here, the essence of Lingnan traditional culture is fully displayed, such as the traditional Lingnan architectural features like the wok ear wall and oyster shell wall, as well as various folk crafts on display, including Guangzhou embroidery, woodcarving, paper-cutting, and enamel. 移步换景 每一处都在诉说岭南文化的风情 ![]() ![]() In addition, Lingnan Impression Park offers a variety of performance activities, such as Lingnan songs and dances, Cantonese opera, and lion dance. While enjoying the beautiful scenery, students can also appreciate the unique charm of Lingnan culture. ![]() ![]() The melodious singing style of Cantonese opera Attract the students to stop and look ![]() ![]() The lion dance performance of "Joy and Harmony" Nowadays, with the advancement of modern education, children's sense of identity and interest in traditional culture are gradually weakening, thus traditional culture is facing many challenges. The purpose of a cultural journey is to immerse children in a cultural environment and deepen their understanding and cognition of the connotations of traditional culture. The world is rich and diverse, and traditional culture is a significant part of it. Perhaps one such study tour activity cannot truly change anything immediately, because education is a process of gentle and gradual influence. But when all the little daily moments come together, they are very likely to bring growth and inspiration to children.
